Home Hospice

For end-of-life care and support in the home, assisted living facilities, and nursing facilities, Regional Hospice offers caring health, emotional, and spiritual support to families and patients in the Fairfield area.

Inpatient Hospice

Our inpatient hospice center, located in Danbury, is the only location in Connecticut to offer private suites for your loved one. We also have accommodations for families and cater delicious meals so you can focus on spending as much time as possible with your loved one.

Pediatric Care

Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided care choices for terminal patients and their families during the sacred end-of-life transition. Our Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first hospice residence of its kind in Connecticut and is available to anyone in the U.S. Fairfield residents benefit from 24/7 clinical care in private suites with screened in balconies, wood furnishings and chef-prepared custom meals. The Center replicates the comforts of home, where loved ones can focus on quality time together.

We understand that each patient has unique needs. In addition to pain and symptom management, we can deliver services such as speech, physical, and occupational therapies. We employ a number of professionals including physicians, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice care aides, and trained volunteers.

Comfort Versus Curative
Our focus in hospice is on allowing the patient and family a semblance of normalcy during the final months of the patient’s life. We work to provide relief from pain and stress for the patient. Those who may want to consider this option are patients whose terminal illness has a prognosis of 6 months or less and children who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness.

A Doctor’s Referral is Not Necessary
Though physicians can certainly refer patients in their care, anyone can request hospice care. We offer an online referral right here on our site for friends, family, clergy, and home care agencies to refer their loved ones within the Fairfield area.

Perinatal & Pediatric Care

For families whose babies are lost during pregnancy or diagnosed with a terminal condition, we offer a Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice Program. Our team is trained to assist your family from pregnancy through birth with the physical, emotional, and spiritual support you need. Your family will be able to make plans for memories of your child and our staff will be there to walk alongside you as you prepare to say goodbye.

Healthcare professionals will meet with families for expert care and advice on caring for your baby at home. Additionally, we’ll offer you contacts and resources within your Fairfield community for further support throughout the grieving process.
